I know that people will find it offensive, but neither voice in this work is really mine...i would hope that people find something that affects them on both sides of the "argument." and, as usual, please comment. treatment No. Really. I'm quite normal. Let me out of here. I won't hurt anybody. I'm quite normal. you hear voices in your head? Yes...well, no. Sort of. could you be more clear? It's like this... God tells me what to do, and I do it. God talks to you? He doesn't talk to me... I just know what he wants. How? I just _know_. That's all. you see nothing wrong with this? No! hm. What are you writing down? nothing, nothing I saw it was something. why do you care? You were writing down something. I can't get out of here until you let me go, so I have a big interest in what you write down! well, what I was writing down was that you still hold to your delusion. It's not a delusion. naturally, you think so. It's faith, damn it! Faith! faith is where you accept something without thinking about it? Right! you have no proof? Ah... you have no evidence? wait... you just know something? yes! this thing that you know makes you go out and try to force other people to accept your delusion? It's not... a delusion. But I know! i don't. It's the truth! well, it's obvious that this session isn't going very well. i suggest that you think about what we talked about. But... And, perhaps, you might consider this: you are not safe to be a member of society. at any time, you might decide that you know that you are supposed to ban a book, or burn a cross, or outlaw a song. you talk to someone who never talks back, and you think that labelling it faith makes it something other than what it is. But... and no, we're not letting you out of here until we can be sure that you will at least think about the things you "know." i'll see you tomorrow. Doctor! Doctor? God? Are you there?
